Brooklands Museum
Brooklands Museum at Weybridge in Surrey offers a heady mixture of heritage, technology, the social whirls of the 20s and 30s as well as thrilling motoring and aviation exhibits.
Brooklands was the site of the first purpose built motor racing circuit in the world and the place where AV Roe initiated his experiments in powered flight – the first Englishman to take to the skies in an aircraft of his own design.
The displays are set out in the original 1907 Clubhouse and in the atmospheric tuning sheds in the Motoring Village.
Be sure to visit the dramatic Members’ Banking.
There are plenty of interactive and hands-on activities including the Brooklands Discovery Centre with experiments to be tried by children of all ages. You can even learn to fly a ‘Jumbo’ jet on the powerful simulator.
Brooklands has its own Concorde supersonic airliner – try the Brooklands Concord Experience.
